God gave us an apartment today!! It's in Santa Elena, which is just across the bridge from San Ignacio! I'll give more of the backstory tomorrow, but just wanted to share the good news! We have a home away from home for the next month!! It was so fantastic to unpack the car today and know that we won't be repacking it for a while!

Here's a picture of the spikey plum fruit we bought from a local the other day. It just might be the weirdest food I've ever seen. I also got a picture of the Midas Resort where we stayed last night (with the color changing lights in the pool).

And lastly the one picture I took today from the new place. We were really busy unpacking and organizing (and yes I had a BLAST putting things away! I'll get more pictures tomorrow of the apartment and share them with you then.
Right now I see lightning and hear thunder in the area. I wonder if we'll have a storm tonight!
Very excited for you!!!! :) We've been praying for you and I can't wait to see pictures of your new "home"!
ReplyDeleteSarah, There is a cave near San Ignacio that yoy can take a canoe into. The property is owned by a Canadian man or was a few years back. See if you can find out if there are some locals willing to take you and the family into the cave it is awesome. Keep in touch and stay safe. Also Tikal ruins in Guatemala are a four hour cab ride. Stay in Flores for the night(cheap hotels) and spend a day at Tikal The kids will love it. Part of the original Star Wars was filmed there. Love ya, Troy
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info Troy! Sounds like you've been here before? Love ya too!
