Last Saturday Market

We picked up our new Canadian friends Tyler & Kristen from their hotel here in San Ignacio and took them to the market. We picked up some veggies for Kris' fantastic salsa and got tamales and papuls (tortillas with meat and beans in between) for lunch. It was raining pretty good so we decided to take lunch back to our apartment. After lunch Kris played tour guide and took Tyler and Kristen to Xunantunich. They climbed all the way to the top of El Castillo. Kris found the same taratnula hole that we saw when we took the boys, but this time he was able to get the tarantula to come out of it's hole! He's a real spider whisperer!! Kristen shared some pictures that she took on her iphone.

The Tarantula Whisperer
That night Abel & Ruth asked if they could bring up dinner. They wanted to spend some time with us as it would be the last opportunity for all of us to hang out before we left Belize (Abel would be going back to work on the island Sunday morning). They brought sabutes- pretty much fried corn tortilla with shredded chicken, cabbage, tomato. They were yummy!!! It was wonderful spending a few hours with Abel, Ruth, Monica, and Val- who have become much more than landlords... they have become wonderful friends!
